Approve Requests

Act on time-away requests and workflow approval forms from the My tasks queue in the ZenAdmin console.

Approvals routed to you appear on My tasks alongside your tasks, in two groups: Time away request and Pending Approvals.

How do I approve or decline a time-away request?

Leave requests from people who report to you show up under Time away request — each row shows who's asking, the date range with the day count, and the leave type.

  • APPROVE applies immediately — there's no confirmation step.
  • DECLINE opens a dialog where you can add an optional note explaining the reason, then confirm with Decline.

The requester sees the outcome in ZenEx under their leave requests.

Approved time off can't be cancelled from this screen — balances and history live in the Time Off module.

How do I act on a workflow approval?

When a workflow routes a form to you for sign-off, it appears under Pending Approvals with the requester's name and the request title.

  1. Click Take Action to open the Approval Form drawer.
  2. Review Form Details — the submitted answers. Depending on how the workflow was built, some fields may be editable by you, others read-only or hidden.
  3. Add a comment — some workflows make this mandatory before you can decide.
  4. Finish with Approve or Decline.

Once decided, the row's button switches to a locked Approved or Rejected — decisions are one-time and can't be reversed from this screen. If a decision needs to change, the requester should submit again.
