Add an application
How to track a new application in ZenAdmin — connect it from the App Store for automatic syncing, or add it manually with license details.
There are two ways to get an app into your tracked stack.
Add from the App Store (integrated)
For apps ZenAdmin integrates with, choose Add software → Add from App Store and connect the integration. Integrated apps sync their user lists automatically — see Connect an integration.
Add manually (custom software)
For everything else:
- Open Software Management → Applications and choose Add software → Add manually.
- Basic Details — app name, category, the software owner(s) responsible for it, a description and a logo.
- License Details — the pricing structure (Fixed licenses or Pay as you go) and, for fixed, how many licenses you've purchased.
- Save. The app joins your Applications list, and you manage its users by hand or bulk upload.
Which type should I use?
Prefer integrated — the user data maintains itself and dormancy detection works from real usage. Use manual for internal tools and vendors without an integration; if an integration arrives later, you can connect it from the Catalog and the app becomes hybrid.
