Build workflow forms
How to build custom forms in ZenAdmin workflows — field types, the drag-and-drop builder, form triggers and downloading submissions.
Forms are how people feed data into workflows — a request form that triggers a flow, an input step inside one, or the document an approval chain reviews.
Where do forms live?
On the workflow's detail page, under the Forms tab: add a form, rename it, edit it in the builder, download its submissions, or delete it.
The form builder
Drag fields from the palette onto the form, with a live preview alongside:
- Text field and Text area — short and long text.
- Number, Selection (dropdown), Radio, Checkbox.
- System Field — fields wired to ZenAdmin data, like SaaS app pickers that feed provision-from-form steps.
Triggering from a form
Set the workflow's trigger to When form submitted and pick the form. Submissions then start runs — employees fill the form from ZenEx as a workflow request.
Getting the data out
Download filled data on the Forms tab exports every submission — no need to trawl individual runs.
