Manage public holidays
How public-holiday calendars work in ZenAdmin — standard country calendars, custom calendars, and how employees get assigned.
Public-holiday calendars decide which days don't count as working days for each employee — feeding both leave counting and the who's-away view.
How are employees assigned a calendar?
Three modes:
- Based on place of work — the default; each person follows their work location's country calendar.
- Assign a specific calendar — pin a person or group to a chosen calendar.
- No public holidays — opt someone out entirely.
How do I create a custom calendar?
- Open Time Off → Public Holidays and click Add custom calendar.
- Name it, then Add public holiday for each date it should contain.
- Assign employees to it.
Custom calendars suit offices whose observed holidays differ from the standard country list — or teams spanning locations with negotiated days.
How do I maintain calendars?
Open a calendar to add, edit or delete holidays and rename it. The list view shows each calendar's country, day count and assigned employees, so gaps are easy to spot before the year turns.
